Jorge’s journey to how he arrived to where he currently is, is nothing but out of the ordinary to say the least. Jorge, graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin’s Moody College of Communication. He received his bachelors in journalism along with certificates in sports journalism and Texas sports & media. Although his love for sports brought him to UT, his newly found passion for medicine made him return to the 40 acres. In returning to school to fulfill the pre-requisites necessary to apply to PA school Jorge has managed to gain 100+ hours in shadowing different Physician Assistants, volunteering at Dell Hospital and patient care experience and also became one of the Co-Presidents of the only PA organization at The University of Texas.
Although the commitment it has taken to complete the pre-requisites, Jorge knows the importance of “Me time.” He loves spending time with his family and his friends, being out and active, playing basketball, football, baseball and all sports, you name it he’ll play it. Although being active is something he loves doing, when he comes across a funny show on Netflix, you can count on multiple hours of the day being spent binge watching shows. Being kind and genuine to others and the need to help others first above himself is everyday life for him.
Jorge looks forward to one day pay it forward because he wouldn’t be a semester away from applying to PA school if it weren’t for the support of family, colleagues, friends and the PAs that allowed him to shadow for that experience.
