Longhorns head man Charlie Strong has coached in his fair share of rivalries. He spent six years in the Florida-Georgia match up, and he has taken part in the Louisville-Kentucky feud. But he has never been a part of something like this.

Building a winner in Austin (published by Heartland College Sports)

What was expected to be a quiet, run of the mill, Saturday in college football, turned into an exciting series of upsets. Unranked Boston College shocked the world by knocking off No.9 USC 37-31. Unraked Eastern Carolina beat No.17 Virginia Tech 28-21, and unranked Virginia took down No. 21 Louisville 23-21.

A Veggie Tale

The Texas Veg Foundation hosted its fourth annual Texas VegFest at Fiesta Gardens in Austin on Saturday. The group began in 2011 to “challenge the notion that Texas is one of the unhealthiest states in the nation,” according to their website. Over 110 companies and 5,000 people gathered to share and celebrate their dietary lifestyle with plant-based foods, booths and activities.

Terrence Ford is back at school at the University of Texas at Austin where he played two years of college basketball and later went on to play professionally for eight years in the NBA. Unfortunately, Ford would have to retire from the game he grew up playing.
