Party Animals: Celebrating Austin’s Fourth No-kill Anniversary
In 2010, Austin’s city council approved the no-kill implementation plan and in less than a year, Austin reached the 90 percent goal. Austin is currently the largest no-kill city in the United States, according to the APA! website.

Dog walking is another issue that animal shelters face, with the implementation of no-kill in austin, the amount of dogs in shelters have risen and they are looking for help to get the dogs out and active instead of being stuck inside their cages.

T.J. Ford: Former NBA player Faces Adversity Head On
Ford, who was born in Houston, started playing basketball at 4-years-old. He attended Willowridge High School and played on the basketball team. The University of Texas started recruiting Ford his sophomore year of high school and he attended UT from 2001-2003 before declaring for the NBA draft. The Milwaukee Bucks drafted him eighth overall. But with this success came a huge medical obstacle that he would have to overcome.
The life lessons TJ Ford learned from the obstacles he overcome in his professional, he now preaches and teaches young kids the importance of good character and hard work.
